I've been using Raspberry Pi 4b with RaspAp installed, to create a sort of a travel router, basically an access point that connects to hotel wifi networks when I travel, supplying all my devices with wifi (and also VPN, adblocker and many other advantages).
I'm using an Argon One M2 SSD case which wastes one USB 3.0 port (and allows me to connect and boot from an SSD).
So I'm left with one USB 3.0 port (and 2 USB 2.0 ports).
I got a super fast USB wifi dongle (EDUP AX1672) which worked wonderfully out of the box. That one is connected to the last available USB 3.0 port.
So now I have this dongle which is amazing, and the onboard wifi chip for the AP which is far from ideal for me (also I suspect the Argon case blocks the signal a little).
Ideally, I would have wanted to get a 2 port USB 3.0 hub, to which I'll be able to connect 2 dongles that'll be AX1672. I already have a second one being delivered.
So my question is, first, will this concept of connecting 2 wifi dongles to one USB 3.0 port via a hub, will it work? I assume at a reduced speed, but half the speed of USB 3.0 is still fast enough.
Second, if it could work, for some reason I can't seem to find such a hub anywhere. All the hubs I see connect to USB type A 3.0 and then split the signal into USB 2.0 ports. Can someone assist me in finding such a hub? I'm not sure how to proceed from here, I really want to have two AX1672, I don't want to give up on the SSD, and I don't want to connect one of them to the available USB 2.0 port, that'll be significantly slower.
Thanks...
