After more experimentation, I have a working setup based on booting from the sdcard and using an external WD usb3 mypassport 4tb hard drive for media. All good.
I want to replace the sdcard with a small 250-500GB NVME using an expansion board with serial cable.
Would a small nvme + connected usb3 harddisk (for media) cause power issues? Is there a way or rule of thumb before pulling the trigger and purchasing an nvme and expansion board?
I'm using a Pi5 with the official 27W adapter.
