Purely out of curiousity, do you believe it would be possible to connect both an M.2 SSD and a low-power AMD GPU (with it's own power supply, of course) using the switch?Technically the interface supports Gen 3 x1 (I've not found a Pi 5 that doesn't work at that speed, assuming you have a good FFC and HAT!).
And PCIe is similar to Ethernet in that it can be switched, you can have many devices downstream of a switch, so you could run A+E key (and if those need USB, you'll need to feed USB in through a passthrough cable from one of the Pi's ports, or there are a couple HATs with a PCIe switch that also have their own internal USB ports they pass to A+E key cards).
So technically it is possible to add on multiple M.2 expansion cards, I've done A+E and M-key on some of my projects... but it is not usually rational. If you need a lot of bandwidth, much better to buy a mini ITX motherboard and a CPU/platform that has more bandwidth!
That sounds like a ridiculous abomination worthy of an attempt.
