Where to find the M.2 overlay? What data is in the EEPROM?
As the HAT just uses power from the Pi it should be possible to use it connected via i.e. Jumper wires (power supply) instead of mounting it on the GPIO40.
Not connecting the EEPROM and loading relevant parameters via config.txt would also free the I2C bus --> connecting of DPI displays (like hyperpixel or others) will be possible.
