Im new to raspberry pi and I bought a small fan but it doesnt work. So I looked in my scrapped e waste bin and found a large ball bearing fan from a Windows Xp pc I scrapped a few weeks ago. It has 3 wires, white, red, and blue. I connected it to my Raspberry Pi's GPIO (the first 4 to be specific) and it quickly turned on. The fan wasnt spinning to fast and the Pi rapidly cooled down. I didnt see any glitches and my Pi went from 60C to 30C in two minutes. I read a post that was very similar to what im asking but I didnt understand it well. Please help me solve this issue, cuz I really dont want to damage my Pi.
The model of fan is DD12038B12HP.
Thank you!
